Farmer Wants A Wife couple Brenton Kuch and Sophie Holcombe split

Farmer Wants A Wife couple Brenton Kuch and Sophie Holcombe have split just three months after the finale episode aired on screens.

Sophie, who won the Victorian cattle farmer’s heart on the Channel Seven dating show, announced the break-up in a social media post on Tuesday evening.

“I have an update to share,” she captioned a slide on Instagram Stories. “With a heavy heart, I want to let everyone know Brenton and I have gone our separate ways.”

The 25-year-old social media manager had moved from her home in Queensland to the rual town of Darriman in Victoria to be with Brenton.

Sophie said relocating didn't faze her as she and her dog, Reggie, “loved our life in Darriman” and are now “missing the farm a lot”.

In her post, Sophie said the break-up was “disappointing”, hinting that one party may have wanted it more than the other.

“It’s a disappointing ending, but I’ve learned a lot about myself and my values,” she added.

“I wish Brenton all the best and want to thank everyone for their support, especially my family and friends.”

Brenton, 26, has yet to comment about the split and, like Sophie, he hasn’t deleted happy snaps of them from his Instagram.

The split comes as a complete shock to viewers as just weeks ago the couple were encouraging farmers to apply for the next season of Farmer Wants A Wife.

“This year Soph and I were lucky enough to meet on season 13 of @farmeraustralia,” Brenton wrote on Instagram, which Sophie shared. “If you’re a brave, single farmer and want to have a once in a lifetime experience apply now.”

Upon winning Brenton’s heart, Sophie also gushed about how excited she was they could be open about their relationship, adding that she was equally looking forward to their new life on the farm.

“I’ve lived in Darriman for over 5 months now,” she wrote on Instagram back in May after the finale episode.
