Last month the world was rocked by the heinous terror attack at the end of Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester. The bombing claimed 22 innocent lives and injured hundreds more, with 17 victims still critically ill.
Ariana was understandably devastated by the attack and has since visited a number of the victims at the hospital and has announced plans for a benefit concert to take place in Manchester tomorrow (Sunday, 4th June). The gig is titled One Love Manchester and the US superstar will be joined by a host of stars including Usher, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, Little Mix, Coldplay, Niall Horan, Katy Perry and many more, with all funds going to the Manchester Emergency Fund.
And it has now been announced that Ariana Grande’s record label Universal Music Group have generously donated the huge sum of $500,000 to the We Love Manchester Memorial Fund. Following the news of the donation, UMG released the following statement;
“The Universal Music Group global family is proud to stand with Ariana Grande and its other performing artists in their support for the victims and families affected by the Manchester attack.”
The One Love Manchester benefit concert will be streamed live across the globe, and will air in the UK via BBC from 6.30pm this Sunday, it will also be broadcast across a range of radio stations.
